Happy New Year! I hope you all are well and excited about 2018. I know I am – this year is going to be awesome!
Have you set your goals yet? I am working on setting mine. But before I set them, it is a perfect time to review the last year and see what we have achieved.
For a few years I have had this blog that I called LanaFit as initially I wanted to document my journey to my fitter self. I didn’t know back then that it would bring me to studying nutrition. As my knowledge grew and my beliefs have changed this blog no longer reflected the way I viewed nutrition, diets, weight loss and such. So last year, in January 2017 Wellnessista was born. I then went on to create an Instagram account under the same name, which I use as a mini-blog. Then I invested my time into more education, studying Sports Nutrition, Child Nutrition and even a bit of mental health studies. Overall, I feel 2017 was a productive year, and I want 2018 to be just as productive if not more.
I have a few ideas for this year and I hope that in a month or two it will become clear which way we go. For now my immediate goal would be to sort the future of this blog. I am thinking of going self-hosting but of course I will keep this domain if possible. I will keep you posted on this matter if anything changes. Moving to another hosting platform is going to be a big change for me, that is for sure. But I love changes! I find them exciting.
Another goal will be to keep educating myself because education never truly ends. There’s always something new, researchers discover new things and new things get taught, so I will keep investing into education.
One of my goals last year was to minimize my stuff. I am proud to say that I have worked towards that goal and freed myself of many unnecessary things, but the process is not yet complete. And how do you become a minimalist with kids anyway? And a husband who loves a clean house but doesn’t share your view on minimalism? Work in progress – that’s all I can say.
One last wish I have for this year is to get rid of all the fears and anxieties and move forward, to not be afraid to take a step and finally realize the ideas and dreams that I have. It is just like in that famous saying:
‘What if I fall?’
‘Oh, but my darling what if you fly?’
Let’s not be afraid of falling.
